Total joint and spine center developer MUVE Health partnered with digital health joint venture Quil to reduce cost and improve outcomes for total joint replacement surgery.
MUVE intends to integrate Quil’s digital health platform into its total joint replacement program. The platform will help prepare patients and caregivers for surgery and recovery through custom care plans, improved nurse navigation and physical therapy.
“Quil’s platform will innovate how information and content is shared among patients, their families and caregivers, empowering them to be their own recovery champions during their surgical episode of care,” said Rod Carbonell, president of MUVE Health. “We are excited to launch this phase one of our integrated platform in our Mid-Atlantic and Texas regions before expanding to additional high priority markets.”
MUVE Health said the partnership with Quil, a joint venture between Comcast NBCUniversal and Independence Blue Cross, would expand the ability of its parent company ValueHealth to deliver quality outcomes in a value-based care model.
MUVE Health provides protocol-driven total joint replacement programs under value-based care contracts, including bundled payments. Earlier this year, MUVE Health partnered with Rothman Orthopaedics to form a joint venture to expand their practices into the Midwest and South.
