The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) has appointed the Association of Indian Medical Device Industry (AiMeD) as a Member of the Board of National Medical Devices Promotion Council which was set up recently by the Indian Government.
An elated Mr. Rajiv Nath, Forum Coordinator, AiMeD, said “We look forward to new opportunities to contribute in nation building by building a strong Indian medical device industry which is of utmost importance to address our National Healthcare Security Concerns and Economy.”
DIPP has decided to strengthen the Indian medical devices sector by facilitating domestic manufacturers to rise to international level, by discouraging unfair trade practices in import and lead India to an export driven.
The Medical Devices Promotion Council will be headed by Secretary, DIPP. Apart from the concerned departments of the central government, the council will have representatives from the healthcare industry and quality control institutions.
