ARKRAY USA, Inc., a leader in diabetes care products, announced today the US launch of the GLUCOCARD® Shine Connex Bluetooth® enabled and the GLUCOCARD® Shine Express audio-enabled blood glucose monitoring systems (BGMS). ARKRAY’s GLUCOCARD Shine family of BGMS now consists of four distinct meters that use the same test strip platform.

The GLUCOCARD Shine Connex is a Bluetooth enabled meter that provides users the ability to wirelessly transmit data to a smartphone or another Bluetooth enabled device using ARKRAY’s ARK Care® Vita data management app–compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
The GLUCOCARD Shine Express is an audio-enabled device that provides testing prompts and glucose test readings in either English or Spanish. Voice prompts help the user easily setup the system and start testing. The GLUCOCARD Shine Express is ideally suited for people who are visually impaired or prefer additional assistance.
Both systems meet stringent FDA accuracy criteria for Self-Monitoring Blood Glucose Test Systems for over-the-counter use. Only a small 0.5 µL blood sample size is required and test results take just 5 seconds. Additionally, both systems provide pre-meal, post-meal, and fasting test averaging and have a hypoglycemia indicator, which warns users when blood glucose levels are critically low.
