IQVIA is expanding its strategic collaboration with Salesforce to build a clinical solution on its Health Cloud.
IQVIA, formed through the merger of IMS Health and the contract research organization Quintiles, sells a suite of technology solutions to speed clinical trials.
The new clinical suite on the Salesforce Health Cloud “Is the next step in the Salesforce and IQVIA commitment to accelerate life sciences products more quickly though the entire product lifecycle, said Tyler Prince, executive vice president at Salesforce in a statement.
The clinical suite, the company says, will automate study processes, drive R&D insights from artificial intelligence and machine learning, and strengthen connections between patients and clinicians.

Richard Staub, president of IQVIA’s research and development solutions said in a statement: “The solutions coming out of this latest phase of our alliance with Salesforce are centered on the patient cxperience. These innovations can help enable our customers to run their clinical trials faster and smarter.” The end result, he said, is that “Clients can create more personalized provider and patient experiences during the clinical state, ultimately leading to better therapies, health outcomes, patient access, and commercial success at launch.”
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but the company said it is a multi-year alliance that will operate on a global scale.
