    Recruitment Notice for Teaching and Non Teaching Positions Advt. No.01/2018

    NIPER-Guwahati is the fifth such Institute to be included in the list of premier Institutes under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India. The NIPER-Guwahati started functioning from the month of September, 2008. The Institute is presently housed at the NIPS, Mirza, Kamrup, Assam. The Institute has excellent facilities for advanced Education and Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences and is looking for both Teaching and Non Teaching Staff with good experience to contribute in building this Institute as one of the best Centers for Excellence. Presently the Institute is offering M.S (Pharm.) and Ph. D Programmes in three branches and planning to expand further. NIPER Guwahati is now inviting applications for Teaching and Non-Teaching positions on contractual basis which are likely to be continued based on the performance of the selected candidates. Candidates will be paid consolidated emoluments as per the norms and the emoluments will be fixed at the time of interview based on the experience and selection committee recommendations.
    Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis
    Associate Professor
    No. of Positions- 01
    Essential Qualification: Ph.D in Pharmaceutical Sciences with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree (MS Pharm/M Pharm/M.Sc) in Pharmaceutical Analysis or Quality control & Quality Assurance with good academic record throughout. A minimum of 6 years of post Ph.D. Teaching/Research/industrial experience, of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor/Senior Scientific Officer/ or equivalent on the closing date of applications. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in method development & validation, impurity profiling, metabolic studies and in terms of guidance of Masters and Ph.D. students, strong record of publications in SCI indexed journals and conference, patents, laboratory / course development and / or other recognized relevant professional activities such as principal investigator of major research projects.
    Desirable experience:
    Preference will be given to the candidate with teaching experience to MS/M.Pharm/M.Tech students as well as research experience in terms of guiding to MS/M.Pharm/M.Tech, Ph.D students and having hands experience in handling triple Quad LCMSMS or HRMS.
    Assistant Professor
    Essential Qualification: Ph.D in Pharmaceutical Sciences with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree (MS Pharm/ M Pharm/MSC) in Pharmaceutical Analysis or Quality control & Quality Assurance with good academic record throughout. A minimum of 3 years of Teaching/Research/industrial experience, excluding the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D having expertise in method development & validation, impurity profiling and metabolic studies
    Desirable experience: Preference will be given to the candidate having strong record of publications in SCI indexed peer reviewed journals and patents.

    Department of Pharmaceutics
    Associate Professor – 01 post

    Department of Pharmacy Practice
    Associate Professor – 01 post
    Essential Qualification: Ph.D in Pharmaceutical Sciences with 1st class or equivalent at the preceding degree (M.S.(Pharm)/M.Pharm/M.Sc) in the Pharmacy Practice or Pharmacology/ Clinical Research having teaching/industrial/research experience with good academic record. Minimum 6 years of Post Ph.D. experience in Teaching/Industry/Research out of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent at P.G. level teaching/Industrial/ Research Institute. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in research in a specific area of specialization in terms of guidance of Ph D students, strong record of publications in reputed journals and conferences, patents, laboratory/course development and/or other recognized relevant professional activities such as principal investigator of major research projects.

    Desirable experience: Persons having experience of clinical practices research employing modern techniques, Patient safety, pharmaceutical care, geriatric pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetics and biopharmaceutics, Pharmacovigilance, Pharmaco-economics, antimicrobial usage, community and rural pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, Pharmacotherapeutics, Rational use of drugs, Clinical Pharmacy, clinical and applied therapeutics and Clinical trials shall be preferred.

    Assistant Professor- 01 post
    Essential Qualification: Ph.D in Pharmaceutical Sciences with 1st class or equivalent at the preceding degree (M.S.(Pharm)/M.Pharm/M.Sc) in the Pharmacy Practice or Pharmacology/ Clinical Research with good academic record throughout. A minimum of 3 years of Teaching/Research/industrial experience, excluding the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D having expertise in Clinical Pharmacy, clinical and applied therapeutics and Clinical trials shall be preferred.

    Desirable experience: Preference will be given to the candidate having strong record of publications in SCI indexed peer reviewed journals and patents.

    GENERAL CONDITIONS
    a. Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizen. Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for interview.
    b. The Director reserves the right to withdraw any or all posts so advertised at any time without assigning any reason. Proposed requirements are for intermittent period till posts are sanctioned by the Govt. of India.

    d. The envelope containing the CV in the prescribed format along with supporting documents in support of age, qualifications and experiences, superscribing ‘Application for the post of ——————————————————————————————-‘ whichever is applied should be clearly mentioned, must reach the office of Registrar, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER-Guwahati), C/O NITS Mirza Campus, NH-37, Shantipur, ParliPart, Mirza, Assam – 781125 on or before 9th April 2018. The Institute will NOT be responsible for non-receipt of application(s) within the stipulated date due to any postal delay / loss of application / document sent in transit. Late applications may not be considered.

    e. On the recommendation of the selection committee, the competent authority may relax all or any of the requirements related to age, qualification and experience in experienced and deserving cases. Higher starting pay may be considered in case of extra meritorious candidate and Salary will be fixed at the time of interview based on the experience of the candidate.
    f. In case no suitable candidate(s) is/are found for higher faculty post(s) i.e. Associate Professor/Assistant Professor, lower faculty post(s) i.e. Assistant Professor/Asst Prof (contract) may be offered.

    h. The applicants serving in Government /Semi-Government /Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous organizations must send their application on the prescribed format along with relevant documents ‘Through proper channel’, failing which, the same will not be considered. However to save the time, candidate may send an advance copy and bring the NOC at the time of interview.
    i. Incomplete application or without relevant supporting enclosures (attested copies of degrees / certificates / marks sheets / experience certificates / Document certifying date of birth, reprint of important publications etc.) will be out-rightly rejected.
    j. Canvassing in any form may lead to disqualification of candidature.
    k. No interim enquiries/correspondence/communication will be entertained.
    l. All appointments are temporary and contractual in nature and same is renewable depending upon performance and mutual consent for every year. The candidate will have no right to claim for regularization. All appointments are contractual in nature and on fixed/consolidated pay.
    m. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview
    n. The process of selection may include presentation / seminar / test / interview or as to be decided by the Selection Committee for the teaching post and written test/Interview for the non teaching posts.
    o. In the case of candidates desire to apply for more than one post, separate application for each post should be submitted
    p. Mere fulfilling the candidature does not guarantee that the application will be shortlisted for interview
    q. For the candidate who are working abroad, skype interview can be arranged on request.
    r. The interview for the teaching positions will be held in the 1st week of May 2018 and the selected candidates have to join in June 2018.
    s. The Test/Interview for the Non Teaching positions will be held in the month of April 2018 and the selected candidate have to join in the month of April 2018 itself.
    t. Qualification, experience will be decided on the closing date of application.
